In 2015, NECTAR commissioned an online survey of all ECAs at ANU to learn about their experiences and opinions and identify their needs. While many of the results of the survey were somewhat expected, e.g. job insecurity was identified as the main challenge facing ECAs, some results proved to be of great value to NECTAR and ANU. For example, mentoring was identified as having a positive impact on ECA's satisfaction with their employment and their stress levels. As a result of this finding, NECTAR is now delivering the ANU NECTAR Mentoring Program!
In 2019, NECTAR will launch a longitudinal study extending the 2015 survey and adding the aspect of mental health of ECAs. Contact us if you would like to know more.
