NECTAR Events and Initiatives

NECTAR provides a professional development program for ECAs aiming to support ECAs in realising their vision. As part of the program NECTAR offers:

  • skill-building workshops
  • networking opportunities aimed at fostering peer-to-peer support and collaborations across and beyond campus
  • opportunities for direct collegial discussions with the University Executive to inform strategic directions of ANU.

In addition, NECTAR runs a career development Mentoring Program for EMCAs.

ANU Vice-Chancellor Brian Schmidt has invited NECTAR to brainstorm ideas for a 10-fold improvement of the way ANU develops its staff. This is our opportunity to show Brian what ANU early-career academics need and how you want to get it. Let’s bring together our grand innovative ideas and foster best practices at ANU. The event will be preceded by lunch at 12.30pm.

Learning never stops – NECTAR's fortnightly research webinar series
Join NECTAR's fortnightly research webinar series and stay connected with ANU ECAs. Today's speakers will be Amita Bansal and Tom Worthington. Amita is a perinatal biologist and will provide an overview of her research field, Developmental Origins of Health and Disease. Tom has been working on better tools and techniques for large scale online learning at research-intensive universities, such as ANU, since 2013 and will share some of his insights at this webinar.
